A little about myself and the purpose of this page.

I am a 40-something American ex-pat living in the great White North with my lovely spouse and our beloved fur children. I currently work for a patient support group that assists with finding support for high cost medications. In my spare time I…

See, about that. I got COVID in May of 2022 and it kind of upended my life completely. I used to love reading, writing, randomly exploring the city, and cooking. Now?? I have fibromyalgia, my thyroid is trash, I’ve got a histamine intolerance and POTS. What I love most in the world now? Naps. Sleep. Rest. Not having my heart rate jump to 136bpm when I stand. Ya know, basic stuff like that.

I kid, but also… I recognize that a lot of the things that I love are not really possible right now. At least not the way that I used to do them. My energy levels are pretty low, my joints often hurt for no particular reason, and my brain is often foggy.

I would like to use this blog as a way to reclaim some of the things I love, by finding ways to adapt to the new me.

I will probably rant about random shit from time to time. Politics, life, my health, whatever comes to mind. You may notice that comments are disabled. That’s intentional. I am not looking for health advice, to argue politics with anyone or to do anything but express myself. My thoughts are not up for debate.

That’s what Reddit is for, right??

Edit: I have decided to open up comments but reserve the right to ignore, delete or respond to them as I like.
